While the steel structures such as steel poles and lattice towers are a prominent part of transmission lines, several other accessories are needed for the line to function. It is crucial to ensure the reliability of these accessories to safeguard against temporary or even total failure of the entire transmission line.
T-STAC can solve the accessory problem for our clients by offering high quality accessories that is specially tailored to fit with our steel structures.
An anchor bolt cage is a crucial component in the construction of steel pole foundations, serving as a reinforcement structure embedded in concrete to secure the steel pole firmly to the ground. Typically composed of steel bars arranged in a cage-like configuration, the anchor bolt cage plays a pivotal role in providing stability and preventing the steel pole from shifting or collapsing under various loads and environmental conditions.
Its importance lies in enhancing the overall structural integrity of the foundation, effectively transferring loads from the steel pole to the surrounding concrete, and ultimately ensuring the stability and longevity of the entire structure. T-STAC have customized design of anchor bolt cages for each steel pole type, for withstanding dynamic forces such as wind, seismic activity, and other external pressures, making them an important element of steel pole foundations.
Fasteners, such as nuts, bolts, and washers, play a crucial role in the construction and assembly of steel poles, lattice towers or other steel structures. These components are essential for securely joining various structural elements, ensuring the stability and integrity of the entire structure. Nuts and bolts provide the necessary clamping force to hold steel members together, creating a robust connection that can withstand external forces, including wind loads and other environmental stresses. Washers are often used to distribute the load evenly and prevent damage to the connected materials.
T-STAC provides fasteners adhering to ISO and ASTM standards, of metric and imperial sizing that will perfectly fit our steel structures. The proper selection of the correct fasteners are vital for maintaining the structural integrity of the structure, enhancing safety, and extending its lifespan.
Conductors are materials used to carry electric current over long distances with minimal loss of energy. The choice of conductor depends on various factors such as electrical conductivity, mechanical strength, weight, cost, and environmental conditions. T-STAC offers several options and can provide recommendations based on these factors.
Aluminum alloy core: Used extensively for overhead lines due to their low cost and light weight. Better corrosion resistance compared to pure aluminum. It is usually reinforced with steel for improved strength.
Copper core: Almost solely used for shorter connections, between the substation transformers and the power line, because it can resist fatigue from being disconnected and reconnected multiple times. Connections are more reliable because copper oxide is also more conductive than aluminum oxide.
Copper-clad aluminum: Aluminum conductor with a thin layer of copper cladding, which compromises between the cost advantages of aluminum and the conductivity of copper.
Insulators play an important role in transmission lines by preventing the flow of electric current from the conductors to the supporting structures, such as transmission towers. They are essential for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the transmission lines.
